With something like Genome, you could MIDI-control several other apps over MIDI channels but the "triggering" of the audiobus recording might be a bit awkward. You could set up Genome to define patterns to play over several apps that support AudioBus...but...you would probably have to start the "output" audiobus recording and then switch to the Genome app and trigger the playback. After that, you would probably have to edit out the "blank space" at the start and/or end of the recording.
